No: At this time, the bladder cancer stage is the most important prognostic indicator of bladder cancer returning. In patients with high-stage local disease, even after removal of the bladder without evidence of spread at the time of surgery, the risk of recurrence is upward of 50%. After bladder removal, it is imperative that you follow-up as recommended to catch potential recurrence early.
