What is the best way to tell if you have migraine or sinus headaches?

Can be a challenge: Distinguishing between the two can be a challenge but migraine headache sufferers rarely have purulent (pus) drainage or fever with their headaches. Acute sinus headache rarely causes nausea, vomiting, photophobia (avoidance of light) or phonophobia (avoidance of sound) which are associated symptoms with migraine.

Light and sound: Migraine headaches are worsened by light and noise. Migraines cause you to feel as if you need to lie down. Sinus headaches do not do this. Studies have shown that most "sinus" headaches are actually due to migraine or muscle tension.
