They get to learn about the technical processes as well as the human factors in caring for these patients. It is an outpatient setting, most patients are 'up beat" and very appreciative of the services provided. Unlike diagnostic imaging techs, radiation therapists get to know their patients. Working in the cancer specialties is rarely sad or depressing. Visit a modern radiation oncology office in your area to see what i mean.
