4 steps: Pregnancy is achieved when 1) an egg is released from the ovary, 2) meets abundant normal sperm, 3) in a normal fallopian tube, and 4) travels into a normal uterus. A disorder of any of the above can decrease your chances of pregnancy. A thorough history, physical exam, and special tests can determine which if any are keeping you from conceiving.
