Many causes: Pain consist of 1) memory of the previous pain. 2) fear of the future pain 3) actual pain. Many factors could contribute: medicine needs time to work, pathway of epidural needle causes irritation, you back problem could require more then epidural injections. In most cases your doctor can reevaluate you and help. I hope you will get better soon.
