A member asked:

I am 27 weeks pregnant my baby weighed about 1 lb 12 oz. the doctor said that's in the 5th percentile. how worried should i be? or will she catch up

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inexact science: Transabdominal ultrasound is a rough approximation based on length and an "idea" on weight. It's plus or minus a few ounces, which can raise or lower the percentile. As long as the rate of growth is good, don't worry about it. The true weight may be higher or lower than what is being shared.
