Many: It may be the beginnings of a fungal toenail infection. There are many treatments, including topical solutions, oral medications, laser treatments, surgical removal, homeopathic remedies, etc. The most used treatment is oral Lamisil (terbinafine) tablets once daily for 90 days. Nail Laser: Treatments effective for fungal nails include cutera nail laser or similar laser. The use of a topical anti fungal such as formula 3 (20 percent effective) with finally use of the steri shoe for sterilization of shoe gear. The three treatments together is the most effective treatment with the safest parameters for patients. Lastly oral anti fungal can be used but can have serious liver side effect.
