How long do i have to stay out of work after a bronchoscopy and how will i feel afterwards?

Dr. Douglas Arenberg answered

Specializes in Pulmonary Critical Care

Not long: After a routine uncomplicated bronchoscopy, it is typical to return to work the next day. This is not a procedure that is associated with any sort of long, or painful recovery.

Minimal: Agree with dr. Arenberg. Barring complications, other than the day of procedure, you should not require any additional absence from work. This includes both flexible and rigid bronchoscopy with or without biopsies (endobronchial and flouro guided, ebus guided, em-nav guided transbronchial biopsies).
