Bronchoscopy--any pain form it?

Not usually: Today most bronchoscopies are done with topical anesthesia and under moderate sedation (drugs that make a person very groggy but do not completely knock them out). Frequently there is some coughing but most people tolerate this procedure well and some do not remember the procedure afterward at all - "ready to go doc" after it is over is not an uncommon outcome.

Not usually: As noted, most people tolerate this procedure well and do not recall the procedure. Often, patients will mostly complain of cough and/or sore throat.

NO: a bronchoscopy itself should not be painful. Your throat can be a little sore for a day or two afterwards.
