Ice, rest, heel lift: The achilles tendon has a poor blood supply and therefore tensds to heal slowly. It is important to reduce the stress on the achilles tendon by partially immobilizing it, icing it, massaging the tendon and using a heel lift to reduce pressure on the tendon. Also wearing shoes, like a running shoe, with a good supportive heel counter is beneficial. See a sports podiatrist if no improvement
