A member asked:

What problems can occur if you stop peeing midstream?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nothing usually.: Purposely topping the urine stream in the middle of voiding is not harmful as long as this is not a frequent occurrence. If the urine stops in mid stream involuntarily, this may indicate problems with the bladder, the prostate gland, or the urethra. It is possible to damage the urinary tract if a person purposely, repeatedly stops the urinary stream in midstream.
