A member asked:

Will a blind person close their eyes when sleeping?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably yes: Even if a person is blind, the eyes will likely close during sleep. Excessive dryness of the eyes can occur if the eyes remain open at night, which can cause scarring of the corneas and other problems. When some conditions such as bell's palsy cause the eyes not to close during sleep, eyes patches are often necessary.
