Discordance: A few possibilities: 1) your glucometer may not be giving you accurate readings. 2) you may be missing high blood sugars during times when you're not usually asked to test, like after meals. 3) you may not be testing enough to realize that you're high. 4) possible lab error with hba1c if your glucometer is ok and you're not missing highs. That would be a less common reason.
