Elevate!: After foot surgery gravity is your enemy. Keep your dressing clean, dry, and intact, and pick a good spot to sit and elevate the foot. The more you elevate, the less you swell. The less you swell, the less you hurt. Your surgeon may give you additional pain medication as well.

Bunion surgery. : I would elevate your foot as you can, ice the foot and ankle often, take your pain medication as prescribed and follow your surgeon's specific instructions. Good luck.
