I always seem to have the cold/sniffles all year round, on average twice a month. is it something to do with my immune system or a long term disease?

ALLERGY?: This is possibly allergy. Make sure about sinus infection. See pcp.

Allergic rhinitis ?: You may have chronic nasal inflammation, called rhinitis with an allergic component, that is allergic rhinitis, also called hay fever or rose fever (there is no associated fever or allergy to roses or hay). It will often be controlled with over the counter antihistamines (zyrtec, allegra) but if these don' t work see your md or an allergist for further management.
