Yes - get examined..: This could represent any number of conditions. I would see an orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon to get a diagnosis and start treatment. www.aofas.org.

Absolutely...: There are many possibe reasons (plantar fascitis leaps to mind) that you may have pain in the heels, but try arch supports like spenco polysorb (http://www.Spenco.Com/products/footcare/poly-sorb) and otc anti-inflammatories (like aleve). If these don't help, see a podiatrist.

Many possible causes: Heel pain is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, a condition that is sometimes also called heel spur syndrome when a spur is present. Heel pain may also be due to other causes, such as infection, tendonitis, arthritis, stress fracture, nerve irritation, retained foreign body, bone tumor, or a cyst. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.

YES.: Here is the straight up answer. Stretch your calves 3 min. 3 times everyday and you will get over it. Everything else you try might make it feel better, but when it comes to correcting the cause, your tight calves, all else is just busy work and expensive. Stretch your calves, save your feet.
