Is listerine still effective if it is not left in for a full 30 seconds?

Yes, but...: Listerine like any other oral health product is tested clinically before releasing it to the public. The studies use certain parameters (such as using the mouth rinse for 30 seconds). Yes it starts the moment the chemistry begins working, but you may not achieve the results achieved in the clinical tests (the full claimed benefits on the packaging) if you don't follow the directions exactly.

Less effective: The active ingredients in listerine will still kill some of the bacteria in your mouth, but using it for the full length of time recommended by the manufacturer is the best way to ensure it is as effective as possible. They did a lot of research to come up with it!
