Sorry to hear.: I don't know. This is difficult. Childhood leukemia is not typically genetically based, but it can be. Did you grandmother's sister have childhood leukemia? If so, more detail could be given by a genetic counsellor. The genetic syndromes that increase the chances of childhood leukemia are so very rare. Good luck to you!
