Not uncommon: Alcohol has a vasodilatory effect. It is possible you are allergic to the sulfites as well.

Flushed face: Facial flushing with alcoholic beverages can be normal or associated with issues such as rosacea, alcohol dehydrogenase deficiency (inherited, common in asoans), or other problems.
