Need to distinguish : It sounds more like a rheumatoid arthritis. See a rheumatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Varies: May or may not all be from same cause, if it is it suggests something more systemic. A good medical checkup with some basic lab work would probably be a good place to start.
