It depends: The answer to your question depends on several factors including your overall state of health, other medical conditions you have, and the extent of changes already present within your heart. A healthy 55-year-old man with no other problems has as much as 50 to 70% chance of getting rid of fibrillation with a procedure we call an ablation. Surgical options are also available.
