Is chewing gum good for your teeth?

No: Chewing gun doesn't strengthen the teeth. However constant chewing can lead to TMJ issues. The jaw joint will be affected eventually. The teeth usually are not affected.

Maybe.: If the gum you chew is sugarless it is postulated that the action of chewing removes plaque from the surfaces involved. Chewing also stimulates salive production which helps to fight cavities. If the gum is sugared, you're inviting more damage due to cavities than any good effects available.
