A member asked:

Is it possible for migraines to be triggered by unconscious teeth clenching? how can i tell?

You cannot: Teeth grinding or brutism is a central neurologic phenomenon. The only thing we can do is to manage its effects by nighttime bite devises. One in particular is effective in reducing the elevating muscles force by up to 70 percent called a nti. It is the only fda approved bite devise for the treatment of migraine pain.

Abdolutely: Clenching of your teeth is a migraine trigger! your dentist can fabricate an appliance to wear while you sleep. If you do it during the day, try chewing gum. Chewing is better than clenching. Consult with your dentist for evaluation. Over-the-counter products are too soft and promote clenching.
