It Depends: Your expectations for visual recovery depend on what the condition is that you need the surgery for. As far as what to expect for the surgery itself, expect it to be done as an outpatient procedure under sedation. You will go home the same day with a patch on the eye, and you will be prescribed drops to help the eye heal. You may experience irritation, but it is usually not painful. Good luck!
