No: No you don't have to, if you don't like your dentist's recommendations then you should get a second opinion at a different dental office from a different dentist.

No, but...: Doing nothing is always an option, but can have poor concequeces! if you are not sure about the treatment your dentist recommends, get a 2nd opinion. You may find that they are just looking out for you.

Up to you : You are the one to decide. If you are unsure, get a second opinion. Be sure to understand why the procedure is recommended and what the level of need is for you to remain healthy.

Be informed first: No dentist will or can force you to do anything that you don't want to do. However, the question is what were the recommendations and why? More importantly, what are the consequences of not doing what was recommended? Understand the comprehensive plan, what is best for you in the long run, and if it can be worked out, even if in stages. Also, you can get a second opinion if unsure what to do.

Of course NOT!: You don't have to do anything! i will assume that your dentist has recommended procedures in order to improve your dental and overall health. If you choose not to have them performed, you must be willing to accept the consequences. If you're not sure what these consequences are, then speak to your dentist. If you don't trust your dentist, get a second opinion. Keep smiling !
