See a specialist: Surgery is the mainstay of treatment. There are only a few hundred surgeons in the us trained to treat sarcomas. Initial appropriate treatment by a specialist is crucial as incorrect resection may lead to severe morbidity and even amputation. Radiation and possibly chemotherapy are often also needed. After that, frequent follow up is needed to detect if tumor returns or spread.
