Yes: Many blind type 1 diabetics undergo pancreas transplants, for instance. Some arrangements have to be made for taking meds and travelling to clinic, but those are usually not insurmountable problems.

Pancreas transplant : Pancreas transplantation is performed for diabetes, so this is actually a commonly encountered issue. Many candidates have lost some or all of their vision to diabetic retinopathy. This does not disqualify them at all from consideration for pancreas transplantation, but it does add to the complexity of the postoperative care. With good support , this is easily surmounted.
