Thrush: It is hard to say without seeing them but white spots on the tongue could be a fungal infection called thrush. It could effect your taste sensation. See your doctor for treatment.

Under care of MD?: You should be under the care of an md. There have very likely been associated changes in the taste buds of your tongue associated with bitter taste. A consultation with periodontist and/or oral medicine dentist can also be helpful.
