M inimize itching: Try something like calomine lotion to minimize itching.Make sure they are not infected.

Clip nails!: The fingernails should definitely by clipped and/ or filed making picking a little more difficult. You may need to cover his hands with gloves or socks so he cannot access his bites. I would also recommend a topical anti-infective, like neosporin, that will protect the bites from infection and may help the healing process. Preventing the bites with off or avon skin-so-soft is also recommended.
