Could be: It might just be alcoholic hepatitis, but it could also be cirrhosis. Alcoholics also commonly get gastritis, or inflammation of the lining of the stomach, so that could be involved as well. The itchy skin does suggest a liver problem. Is he jaundiced (yellow)? He needs help! please have him see a doctor.
