Small cell. : Overall survival for small cell lung cancer is quite poor, regardless of the treatment. If someone is receiving "gene therapy", then it is likely they have advanced stage disease since this is not standard treatment. Survival with advanced stage small cell lung cancer is extraordinarily poor.

Gene therapy : It is still considered experimental for small cell. Life expectancy depends upon the stage of sclc whether limited or extensive. In most patients it is a fatal disease.
