See below: Actually the brain was cooled in order to protect it while its blood flow was interrupted. There should be no long term effects from the cooling.

Yes: Long term issues are incompletely understood. There are fewer long term problems with deep hypothermia vs regular circulatory arrest. But both sets of patients have some behavioral and cognitive issues. Please discuss specific issues with your doctor.
