See a podiatrist: Or foot specialist. You don't want to get an infection as you are having surgery. If you have an infection elsewhere you shoudl tell your doctor. You also want normal blood clotting times.

Follow directions. : Afterward you'll want to wear an open toed shoe for several days, and follow all soaking and dressing directions given to you by your podiatrist (or whichever doctor does the procedure).
