How long does Achilles strain take to heal?

Dr. Jeffrey Kass answered
Podiatry 28 years experience
Depends: This is very variable. Depends on the extent of "strain" or tendonopathy. It depends on how it is being treated. It depends on what the individual does during the day...People that use stairs and or ladders often will have a difficult time. I would be aggressive with treating this so that it can go away faster.

It depends: Upon the severity of the strain of the heel cord, and if stretching and antiinflammatories are being used consistently. If you are doing these things, you should see improvement in a few weeks. See a podiatrist for more definitive timeframes and care.
