Contiguous infection: Chronic osteo can cause the surrounding soft tissues to get infected and may lead to what is called a sinus tract, which is a tunnel that leads to the skin. I am not aware of other issues.

Chronic osteo...: Can be associated with a squamous cell carcinoma in the chronic sinus tract and also can be associated with amyloidosis. In 40 years of id, I have seen no carcinomas and one case of secondary amyloidosis.
