What does each part of the eye do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Parts of the eye: Cornea - lets light in and focuses light. Iris/pupil - controls how much light reaches the posterior segment. Lens - focuses light and helps the eye to focus on things at near (up close). Retina - captures light. Optic nerve - collects light information from the the retina and sends to the brain for processing.
