Family history: The kind of hair is more important than its presence. Many races have a lot of hair. If the family tends to be hairy, i wouldn't worry. What has your pediatrician said about the hair? Does he have odor from armpits? Pubic hair? Coarse hair? Are his genitals enlarging? Is he otherwise healthy?
