A member asked:

Started metoprol for second time, every time i take it my hr seems to go 130+. take for arrythmias. why do you think hr increases?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pheo: A pheocrocytoma is a tumor producing Adrenalin type of hormones. A beta blocker like metoprolol would cause paradoxical increases in heart rate. Beta blockers are contraindicated in patients with this tumor. If you truly have this symptom contact your doctor right away. You may need to see an endocrinologist urgently.
