How long can someone's heart stop and there is still a chance for full recovery?

Depends: Without oxygen from a beating heart, brain damage begins in roughly 4 minutes. But if chest compressions are begun immediately after the heart stops beating, the time to brain damage cane be extended significantly... Which is why early CPR is so important.

4min: If the body temp is very low the above time can be longer it takes 4 min or longer for brain damage which might have difficulty recovering vs heart.
