Yes: In fact doctors used to call the mini-epidemic of people with heart rhythm disturbances (svt, atrial fibrillation) that they saw in their ers after heavy drinking "holiday heart." when the binges become frequent and closer together, it can cause alcoholic cardiomyopathy, an irreversible form of heart failure that often results in severe disability and early death.
