I have read a great deal lately about extended water fasts for health, weight loss, etc. are these fasts safe for 60 days?

No.: Supplements would be needed to prevent serious illness. The body would break down muscle and organs for calories needed. Humans are not meant to fast for 60 days! this is a sick fad!

Not recommended: I would not recommend doing that for more than 2 days if at all. Eat right: good fats such as olive oil and coconut oil are fine in sensible amounts. Eat a rainbow of lots of organic vegetables and just enough protein. Eat complex carbohydrates, avoid sugars and limit flour products. Eat meals 5 hrs apart. Drink lots of water between meals.
