A member asked:

What would be the reason that i am not converting enough t3 from my synthroid (thyroxine)? would changing to nature throid be a good choice?

Synthoid t3 (liothyronine) levels: Synthroid (thyroxine) is T4 and is converted at tissue level to T3 but not measured in the blood you have no medical problems T4 replacement adequacy should be judged by measuring free t 4 ltdh levels and should be in normal ranges T3 levels generally low no need to switch to natural form which does provide some T3 but not well supported by science.

Horrible choice!: Take the correct amount of synthroid (thyroxine) and forget nature thyroid as it's potentially dangerous and you can't check the blood levels with lab tests. Don't believe what you or your doctor have heard about wilson's syndrome, T3 deficiency, or reverse T3 blood tests -- it's all internet garbage. Check the american thyroid association web site under wilson's syndrome, where they debunk the myth..
