Energy in<energy out: There are things i need to know. Height, wgt, bmi, pubertal level, food intake, activity level are just starters. In general, weight gain occurs when we eat/drink more (energy in) than we expend with activity (energy out). There are lots of 'empty calories' in drinks, food portions may be too large. Teens and tweens need a minimum of 1 hour of vigorous exercise/day, more to lose weight.
