A member asked:

My mom and my sister and my grandparents have and had cancer all of them past. is there a chance that i can get cancer too? does it run in the family

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Having first degree relatives with cancer (mother/sister) can increase your likelihood of developing cancer as well, depending upon what type(s) of cancer they had and age of diagnosis. It is definitely something to bring up with your primary care doctor so that you can discuss appropriate cancer screening.
