Size/time/ tolerance: Several factors determine how intoxicated a person will become (and thus their risk of posioning) when consuming alcohol 1) size- the smaller the individual, the less alcohol required to become intoxicated 2) time- because the body metabolizes alcohol, drinking spread out over a number of hours lessons the effect 3) tolerance- because of tolerance- the more often you drink, the less the effect.

It varies widely: based on the size of the individual, when they last ate, and their alcohol tolerance based upon how often they drink. Death from alcohol usually occurs from respiratory depression or from aspiration of vomitus, as there is no true "alcohol poisoning" as is popularly believed, but those complications are affected by the above factors. Hope this helps!
