Time to see doc..: You possiblely have extra joint fluid (effusion), or a baker's cyst in back preventing you from bending your knee. It is not possible to tell what you have or to better advise you since the information you provided is so limited. Thorough history and exam are very important for an accurate diagnosis..Please consult doc for eval. Motrin/aleve may help a bit. Good luck to you.

It is not normal: For some body in your age you must have mechanical to cause the not to bend, this condition need to be checked by exam and possibly mri. As far as popping when doing activities, the most common cause of it something we call plica in the knee which is remnant of embryonic tissue in the knee if it bother could be taken out.
