Depends on test: Hep a:2 different tests- (igg) tests for old (6 mos or longer ago) exposure; igm tests acute infection. Don't know which you had. Other causes of acute infectious hep include hep b, hep c, (less common d, others). Common cause can be from infectious mono (caused by 2 viruses: epstein-barr (ebv), and cytomeglovirus (cmv); same kinds of tests for acute and chronic (old) inf, not ongoing, chronic inf.

Depends on accuracy: There are several types of antibodies. Igg antibodies provide lifelong immunity and prevent re-infection. You may have a pos. Test now that is the igg measure. This will be positive for lifetime, and provides life-long immunity. The igm antibody is the acute phase measure that demonstrates acute infection. Identify wh/ test you had that was positive now, and in the past.
