A member asked:

I got e coli and a kidney infection after anal sex should my partner get treated if he has no symptoms?

Not for E coli: Both of you need to be tested for sexually transmitted diseases, including hpv. It is important for both of you to consult your doctors for evaluation and practice safe sex all the time, every time.

UTI: At the very least your partner should have a urinalysis and if there is anything suspicious should have a urine culture done. These results will dictate treatment. However, without symptoms, I am doubltful there is anything that requires treatment at this point, but get the tests done and interpreted by your partner's doctor.
