A member asked:

What are risks of pulse pressure in excess of 120?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Same as elevated BP: Widened pulse pressure is a marker of cardiovascular mortality. Must be evaluated in context of other "blood pressures" systolic, diastolic and mean bp. Must figure personal characteristics such as height and known atherosclerotic stiffness. If pulse pressure is 120 you must have HTN and this should be treated down to goal. Once that is done your pulse pressure may not be elevated at all.
