Kidney disease: Kidney failure may lead to accumulation of toxins and waste products in the body that can affect the odor of sweat. Kidney failure also leads to decreased ability to eliminate excess water from the body resulting in edema. The fluid will pool around the ankles during the day shifting to your eyelids at night. Your health care professional can evaluate kidney function with a simple blood test.
